Blemish note: Inner-surface has micro-bubbles in each wheel. No worries! You'll slide right through them!!

The new butter is here! In a new soft and clear 75a durometer for even buttery-er slides!

Sector 9 has crafted a lovely urethane for performing all of your favorite downhill skateboarding acrobatic maneuvers and poured it into a shape that not only complements the slide but enhances it!

The Sector 9 Butterballs Shred Thane Formula Freeride Wheels are centerset, relatively wide and ideal for busting mega-sized standup slides, hands down slides, sit down slides, or whatever other slides the kids are doing these days.

Does that mean you'll be throwing switch toesides into hairpins at the local beach access road like Duke Degen? Maybe. Probably not... But you can certainly get there someday! The only thing that could make these wheels even better is if you painted a Lobster on your deck.

Sector 9's Description

Butterballs are the original Sector 9 Shredthane wheel. A center set supportive core helps you in rotating the wheels to keep them wearing evenly as you shred them into oblivion and leave thane trails all over your favorite hill.

Enjoy the thane lines but watch out for flatspots
on 2019-07-20
In this day and age of hyper resilient wheels, I enjoyed how much these thaned. They do flatspot easily though, and while that can be corrected when they still have life left, I was not able to do so when I got near the core. As the other reviewer said, they grip quite a lot and I found them to be more work to slide at lower speeds.
Good stuff

Way more controlled than the 80a formula. Handles speed better. Dumps thane. Great freeride wheel
New vs old

These new butterballs are super fun and thaney. But at 150 lbs. I got all the grip when I needed it. Don't get me wrong the are very slidey and buttery but I found myself free riding faster than normal and throwing big squatters into corners. They feel slightly different than the old model in that they slide a little more into the pavement. This is where the grip comes from. Great wheel, super fun, increased free ride speed, great supportive core, great urethane, poops thane, buttery slide for days Pooooooops thane. It's a butterball..

Slide Well, Wear Quickly
on 2017-05-11
For a rider of my size (6'1" 170lbs), I knew that these wear relatively quickly, but oh man. Borrowed these from a friend for a day, and after 2 pendys just to feel them out, I immediately gave the wheels back. They do everything they promise to do, just know that what you are getting into is a hail storm of thane dust so thick it gets into the velcro of your slide gloves after 2 slides and you can't get it out.
