73mm Orangatang The Cage Longboard Skateboard Wheels
Orangatang presents "The Cage" - a 73mm wheel designed for riders who want a larger freeride wheel that will truly perform.
The large core allows the wheel to accelerate quickly and the large diameter helps the wheel hold its speed with a predicatble grip.
This wheel is geared towards larger riders, since it takes a bit more mass to slide more mass.
The urethane is amazing and predicable, as expected from Orangatang. The Cage performs awesomely at slower to mid-range speed because it is stone-ground . At lower speeds, the wide contact patch may cause it to grip a bit more than wheels slightly smaller like brothers Keanu and Kilmer!! Don't worry, all three wheels slide smooth with no chatter!!
If you are looking for a larger freeriding wheel, then check out The Cage longboard skateboard wheel!
73 mm diameter | 50 mm width | 41.4 mm contact | 187 g/wheel | centerset bearing seat
Tall and charming, The Cage holds it together with an air of calm and collected charisma… but is always prepared to lose its shit and get wild. The Cage is here to deliver when the script calls for inordinate momentum, firm yet pliable grip, and high-speed slides. Step away from the bike… and get your downhill fix on four wheels.
Purple 83a CagesBy Owen on 2019-06-22 Verified Purchase
I expected the large core and freeride-oriented design to be a little more slippery, but these wheels slow you down fast! This isn’t a negative, I just wouldn’t recommend them for slower freeride. They have been great wheels to learn faster slides and speed management, particularly glove-down slides (previously, I was only comfortable with stand-up slides). They have a great release point and a consistent resistance while going sideways. I have them set up on a Bustin Royce Pro with Paris 180mm 50 deg and 1/8” risers. I only get occasional wheelbite while doing flip tricks. These wheels are the heaviest I’ve owned, with the tradeoff being that the roll speed is great. I would recommend these to people interested in moving away from slippery thane-dumpers to something that will get them down a hill faster with just as much consistency. For weight reference, I’m 180lbs/82kg.
Great fast freeride wheels so farBy Joe on 2018-10-03 Verified Purchase
Only had them for about a week only skated on them for a few sessions but they FUUUN, I weigh about 240 and opted for 83a. Great grip when needed, feels good carving at 30mph+ Slides great on good pavement but some pavement feels like it gets stuck but might've just been the road we were on. Overall great wheel for a little of everything.
Super Controlable, Tough ReleaseBy Will Logan on 2017-05-11
I weigh about 170lbs and I ride the 86a when I do my fastest free riding (15-30mph). They are smooth and shave speed consistently through turns, yet hold well when they need to, even up to 30mph. Once you know to trust this wheel's release, it is a beautiful thing. They are easily my most predictable wheel and I would ride them on anything. Second point, they wear better than any wheel I have ever ridden (even pattern, low wear, smooth thane). They are similar in feel to old 'These' free ride wheels. Well done Otang, keep it coming!
great wheelsBy mikelly949 on 2016-07-23 Verified Purchase

4 President (Actual Purchase)By Father of 2 Boys on 2016-07-04 Verified Purchase
I swapped out for " 4 President" - Super grip, great in turns, and smooth. I would suggest an Orange set.
80a feel like DH wheelsBy ElPadrinoRichard on 2016-01-20
I tried 80a and they feel really really gripy. At the begining they didn't like me at all, but after testing them a little more I find out that you have to lean more when sliding so they don't pop you out of the board. I would say that they are for FAST FAST freeride, almost DH. If you are looking for easy slides, this are not for you. BTW I weight 145 lb...
