Description

RipTide Bushings offer three unique varieties of urethane:
The APS (Animated Polymer Systems). the WFB (World's Fastest Bushings), and the newest edition to the family is the KranK (Performance Under Pressure).

The KranK bushings are made out of a high rebound formula that will harden when compressed under pressure. For example if you are cruising down some mellow hills then you decide to step it and mob down the next, just tighten that kingpin nut down a turn or two and voila your ready to go.

The bulky shape of the appropriately named RipTide Chubby Bushings offers a very stable platform and less movement rebound than the Barrels, making the RipTide Chubby Bushings a great choice for high speed downhill and any other time you don't want trucks to turn like crazy.

If you combine the RipTide Chubby Bushings with a set of the RipTide Barrel bushings, you've got yourself a great combo for a larger rider as well as for technical and high speed downhill alike.

These Chubby RipTides are mega wide. This means a standard cupped washer isn't gonna fit. Luckily for you, the Chubby Pack includes two large flat washers, too!

RipTide's Description

KranK™: Performance Under Pressure

Our highest rebound formula to date, KranK is designed specifically to change under pressure and is controlled by the amount of clamp pressure you subject it to when tightening the King Pin nut!

The effective range of control is from barely snug for the loosest feel to 2 full turns for the tightest feel.

KranK will turn the same or less than the same durometer of other brands which is also a departure from APS and WFB.

As for washers, flat washers work great with this compound, but for the greatest control and range of this performance feature, use cupped, precision flat or precision cupped washers.

I put a pair of these boardside on my Baffle 37 in an effort to be more stable downhill, but these are very restricting for a 165-lb man. Be prepared to lose a bit of turning radius at a cost for more stability with a decent return-to-center. Recommended for 170lbs.+
