First off, YOU WILL NOT FIND BETTER PRICES. Free shipping, free stickers, free shipping on my bushings even though they didn't have to. Scott will answer any question you have. He is very prompt with his responses and extremely professional. You can tell this company values their customers.

Overall just a great online shopping experience. I knew what i wanted before I went to them so I didn't really need to seek their assistance picking the board, but their handling of the order after I placed it was great. They also included a bunch of stickers in the package which was cool. I will definitely turn to them when it's time for the quiver to expand a bit. Also, my ESM was 25 dollars cheaper than anywhere else as a complete. Very impressive.

I just have to say, the quality of service mixed with the friendliness of the the staff is something I'm not used to dealing with. They deal with you on an eye to eye basis, not looking down their noses at you and are happy to help. I love that. Not only did they process my order at the very end if not slightly past their closing time, but they long distance called me to verify shipping details and answer some of my questions about the board. I dealt with Scott and Seth and without a doubt they get five stars, two thumbs up and smiley face from me. I will repeat as a customer any time I need parts. I was referred to Muir by a friend here in Long Island. I went to the site and did some research. The Tan Tien was sold out at the time so I called to get idea as to when they would come in. Scott himself told me the he expected a shipment the following Tuesday and that he would call me when they came in. He did just that, I logged in and bought it on the spot. He then sent me an email to confirm that it was my order and that he would get it shipped out that same day. I got an email with the UPS tracking number link a few hours later, he told me the day I would get it and it came exactly when he said it would. I may be a 42 year old man, but I felt like an 8 year old on Christmas morning when I saw that box on the dining room floor. I've been out of boarding for 12 years (got married and had 2 kids - I know, no excuse..). Anyway he recommended a wheel upgrade and I agreed. Muir exceeded all my expectations. Thank you Scott, I love my Tan Tien!!

Great customer support. Normally I'm pretty bad at talking to store owners about products, but with Scott, it was definitely different. It is a very friendly environment. I think my ~1.3 hr drive down to their shop was worth it. It is the first place I've been to that sold longboards that do not only include Sector 9 and Arbor. Plus, I got a discount off my deck which is awesome.

If I had a job, I'd probably order more things from here.

They were great! Scott gave me an extraordinarily friendly comment and threw in the free bushings (6 of them). I ordered Saturday night and it was shipped Monday morning. What more could I ask for? I will be giving them my business from now on. Plus I got 10% off. My original order was pushing $270 and it came out to $238.

After getting my order, I really felt compelled to write this review and let people know how amazing this store is. I had heard other people say things about how they got free upgrades and discounts and things, but (having ordered from several other skateshops online) this exceeded my expectations. This is where I'm buying my stuff from now on.

i love muir's fast shipping and great customer service, nearly close to MHM. i also love their location and how they spread the stoke locally to others, they have great prices, and their variety of products is great.

I was stoked when a local shop hooked me up on a complete a few weeks ago. I contacted them again to work out a deal for my buddy, but was declined. After calling Muir and talking to the guys there, they said they would hook me up for sure. I drove 60 miles further than my local shop based on the way they treated me. They in return got the green, and I got exactly what I wanted. A great product at a great price. They honored the 15% off sale that had ended a few days before. Seth was a chill cat who didn't try to sell me a bunch of add ons, and even gave me a few set up tips. I will be headed there in the future based on customer service, and the fact that they hooked me up. Sad for my local shop, but I take care of those looking out for me.

I called them up to confirm a few things and they answered all my questions. As busy as there were, that was pretty rad. By far the most lively place I have ever ordered from. It's a place you can tell care about customers. They definitely keep their site maintained well.

This was my first time buying from Muir and they definitely live up to all the good reviews. Fast shipping, excellent communication and top notch customer service. i would definitely buy from here again. The only thing i can think of that they can improve on is to have better product description and pictures on some of the hardware, but thats really minor.

First and foremost, Scott is a great guy. Placed my order over the phone because their website was experiencing some technical difficulties. When I told them about this, they asked me details about what was going wrong and actually cared about fixing it. They also apologized for any inconvienience.

My order over the phone went extremely smoothly. Scott checked and made sure everything was in stock, repeated my order and all my information back to me to make sure it was 100% correct, and actually had a conversation with me. He really took his time and didn't try and rush me. Shipped the same day, and got a personal email with my tracking information, not an automated one. Wish we had shops this good on the East Coast! Just wanted to drop by and tell everyone how great of an experience I had when ordering from Scott at muir skate. I got the best customer service I have ever experienced purchasing anything. I was drawn to Muir due to their extremely competitive prices. When I found out that they were also running a 15% off deal during July, I was blown away.
I tweaked what I was looking for over a few days on the Muir website (I even commented that I'd kind of like to get NoSkoolz, which weren't in the options for a custom complete, and soon after, they had been added!), and finally decided to order via phone. The way I wanted to go about paying for my order was kind of inordinately complicated. I had two giftcards (from different companies) and a debit card to make my purchase, and Scott was totally cool with that. In addition to that, he took extra time to talk about my setup with me on the phone and offer tips and advice based on my personal situation and plans for the board. Finally, he threw in free bearing spacers and will have the packaged shipped the day after the order was placed.
Overall, my experience with Muir has been exceptional in every sense of the word, and I will be hard-pressed to buy anything that Muir carries from any other shop.

I came here when I purchased my first long board skate board. I had bought the board from a friend with out any trucks or wheels. The store manager helped me pick out wheels, trucks, bearings, and bushings. He even gave me a sweet discount as well as put the board together for me free of charge. He was very helpful when it came to choosing which items to get, as he simply told me which would be the best set up for me, especially since I was a beginner at all of this.
He also sells gear for surfing and several different surf brand attire.

It's good to see a shop like this in person that doesn't drown in Sector 9 stock. They have demo boards of what they sell and they skate them! All products in their catalog are based on what's popular and what's of good quality. I have walked in their shop several times when they were packing up orders that came in that same morning, there's first-rate service for you. You know a skate shop is full of stoke when they put a skate ramp INSIDE their shop!

The day after I placed the order, Scott from the store himself called me to talk about the setup I had purchased and why I wanted those parts. After recommending me some different parts, he tweaked the board to ride just right for me. Will buy from again.

i went to their website knowing nothing about longboarding other than that i want to cruise/carve. i called them up just to ask a few questions and before i could even ask them, they gave me the exact answers and told me exactly what i should get... which just so happened to be what i was planning on getting anyway. i just go tmy board and spent all day on it and i have never been more pleased with a purchase in my life. great company.

First heard of the store from the Fall 2008 Concrete Wave that featured a picture of Scott in the store. Honestly didn't give them much thought since I was living in SF and had my local shop that I "supported" ($$$)! However after moving back to Texas and discovering that there might be a lot of things bigger in Texas, mostly attitude and hair, but the longboard selection in the DFW Metro-plex is DEFINITELY not! After surfing virtually EVERY web site available trying to find the perfect combination of want and need, I checked out Muir... BEST service, GREAT selection (in stock as well, not just pictures!!), KNOWLEDGABLE staff... I haven't been this stoked on a shop in YEARS, not even my "home" store in NorCal.

I ordered the 3-day shipping on my dervish and scott forgot to throw that in, I contacted him and he ended up giving me a free pair of loaded slide gloves(50$) my extra money i paid for dast shipping, all for his minor mistake. The board only came 2 days later... it almost worker out better!

A pricing mishap landed me with the setup for $167 shipped from West Coast to East Coast. Despite the error they let me have the setup without paying the extra because Scott said "I deserved the board for searching online to find the cheapest place. If you look everywhere on the internet you will find what you're looking for at the right price." Despite getting the board for about $100 less than I should have he still threw in some stickers, a shirt, a Concrete Wave mag, etc. This place is DA BOMB!!!

I had never heard of the store before, but I took the chance and ordered through them. I was really pleased with the results. The only things I'd like to see improved would be the customizations on the complete set ups and confirmations on the purchase. After my purchase, I didn't receive a confirmation via email. I followed up directly to ensure everything went through. Scott made sure the order was received and out for delivery on time. Their site's new and their shaking out the kinks, but they'll do well if they can produce volume with the outstanding prices and personalized service.

I got my first board freshman year and I've been going back ever since for everything I need. As my skating disciplines grew, so did Scott's inventory. This is a great down to earth store, with a great person behind it. Highly recommended!

Actually from what I hear this is the only Surf Shop on any UC campus, which is pretty cool. Of all places though UCSD deserves to have one since it is one of, if not, the best surfing school in the nation. Muir Surf & Sport is located in Muir College in between the dorms and El Mercado. If you know where the mail boxes are at Muir, then you'll be sure to pass right by the surf shop. They have a great selection of surf boards, skate boards (long and short), accessories such as leashes, rash guards, skate board wheels, stickers, and clothing racks. They also have stuff for rent which is cool if you don't have your own things and don't really plan on buying a board anytime soon. The owners and employees are really helpful and relaxed, sometimes you can catch them skating or surfing out at Blacks so they know where you're coming from. Overall it's a great shop to check out, even just to browse if you have time in between classes.

This place is awesome. They have tons of sweet boards, I've gotten two from Scott myself. The prices are competitive. Scott is awesome, he'll help you out with whatever you need, and give you some good deals. He'll help you fix your board up too if need be. Buy your surf/skate stuff from here, especially if you're from UCSD. Support Scott and make sure the shop stays on campus!

They've got the most discounted rainbows in the area (unless you're at the rainbow outlet). They frequent a lot of time in Price Center to advertise to students as well. The store manager is a very chill guy and will try to save you money. Definitely check them out.

This is a pretty sick surf and board shop. The could fix up your board for real cheap if not for free. The guys that work there are pretty chill and laid back. A couple of my friends have gotten all their boards from there and they are very satisfied with their purchase. It's a cool surf shop as well.
