The Earthwing SuperModel longboard skateboard lineup has been updated for the year 2012! Each of these new SuperModels feature a slightly shorter wheelbase than last year's models, some radical graphical update, and some toe/heel notches to assist you with your sweet 90 foot standup slides. The shorter 38" version will be a great choice for younger (or smaller) riders who are looking for all of the fun without all of the bulk. The 40" version of the 2012 Earthwing SuperModel comes in two ply variations: 8-ply (for riders under 180 lbs.) and 9-ply (for riders over 180lbs. or who are looking to go a bit faster than "average").
Check out the following blogpost for some more info on the bad boys:

Please Note: The Earthwing SuperModel Decks are colored with a staining technique and not all stains will come out the same. Each ply of wood will reveal its own patten and therefore each SuperModel will be totally unique.
Independent Skateboard Trucks have been around longer than we've been on the internet, and with good reason! Indy trucks are the bees knees when it comes to a shreddable standard kingpin truck! We love to set up Independents on Earthwing skateboards, Gravity skateboards, Sector 9 Skateboards, and any other boards with a new school drilling pattern! The stock bushings are quite soft, so you may wish to upgrade them to get the most out of your new favorite trucks. Just check out the bushing upgrade we suggest:
You will want to purchase a pack of Venom DH Barrels that correspond to your body weight (light, medium, heavy), riding style (casual, intermediate, aggressive), and stiffness of your board (flexy, medium, stiff). You will also need to purchase one pack of Bones Hard Core Bushings for the top of the trucks. You will want to use the smaller two (of the four bushings that come in the pack) on the road side of the truck. Be sure to choose a harder combination of bushings for higher speeds and stiffer boards.
The Gravity Drifter longboard skateboard wheels are a good wheel for those of us interested in getting the most bang for our buck. Because these wheels are side set, the 70mm Gravity Drifter longboard wheel will fit on a drop through longboard skateboard like the Gravity Makai or Kalai as well as on a top mount cruiser such as the Gravity Spoon Nose. If wheelbite has been a problem in the past, these wheels are the solution to your problems. Word on the streets is that these wheels make a great freeride wheel, too! Inexpensive, grippy, and smooth, these wheels will definitely put a smile on your face.
Bones Reds longboard skateboard bearings are by far our favorite skateboard bearing at Muirskate.com. If you have not noticed, we upgrade all our board with Bones Reds for FREE! It's definitely the best value that you are going to find. We agree with skateboarders all over the world that Bones Reds are the best low price quality bearings skateboarding has to offer. They are super smooth and long lasting. Just like any bearing, you should keep them out of the rain and expect that riding through sand and dirt put lots of wear on them. If you avoid these elements, you can expect your bearings to last a long time. Anyone with experience will tell you that Bones Reds, along with any other bearing, should be cleaned regularly. Just buy a Bones Bearing Cleaning Unit and some Bones Speed Cream and you can clean the Bones Reds Longboard Bearings yourself without taking too much time out of your busy day. We know that you will like your new bearings.
Designed to fit the majority of (if not all) truck styles including Randal, Paris, Bear, Caliber, Gullwing, Surf Rodz, and Independent Trucks...
We support and encourage the use of shock strips on all drop through longboard skateboards. The use of shock strips on a drop through board will help increase the lifespan of your deck, as well as help reduce the wear and tear all your gnarly shredding puts on your hardware. Placed between the truck and the deck, having a dampening system ensures that you're not just pressing your trucks into your deck every time you make a hard carve or slide.
Be sure to add a set of No. 10 Washers to your order to help protect the deck from the pressure the nuts will create on the underside of the deck!
(If you're ordering a complete, don't worry about it. We'll throw them on for you.)
Khiro Shock Pads are the industry leader in hardware technology for longboard skateboards and that is why MuirSkate.com carries Khiro. Bob at Khiro ("Khiro Bob") is definitely in a class of his own! Bob is always innovating and making his products better for us longboarders and street skaters. You can tell when you look at his selection. He only uses the finest ingredients for his shock pads. That results in less stress cracking in your board and minimizes broken hardware. Taste one sometime. Most shock pads leave a gritty residue in your mouth, but not Khiro Bobs. His taste like Tangy Taffy! Go with Khiro. We do!
